EOCO Requests Financial Records from Accra-Based Firm in Ongoing Investigation

The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has formally requested financial and operational records from an Accra-based firm as part of an ongoing investigation covering activities between 2017 and 2025.

In a confidential letter dated October 30, 2026, and signed by Acting Executive Director Raymond Archer, EOCO directed Sarkodie Baffour Awuah and Partners, located at No. 9 Wawa Drive, North Dzorwulu, to furnish a range of documents to assist investigators.

The anti-corruption agency cited Section 19 of the EOCO Act, 2010 (Act 804), as the legal basis for the request, stating that the information was required to facilitate its investigations.

According to the letter, EOCO is seeking audited financial statements of the firm, evidence of taxes paid to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), including corporate tax, VAT and withholding tax, as well as a list of the company’s bank accounts supported by bank statements.

The agency has also requested details of the firm’s operating permit and renewal records from the relevant assembly, together with a list of employees currently working for the company, if any.

EOCO directed that the requested information be submitted by November 6, 2026.

“We solicit your cooperation in this regard,” the letter stated.

The request forms part of EOCO’s mandate to investigate and prevent organised and economic crimes, including financial offences, corruption and related criminal activities.

No further details regarding the nature of the investigation were disclosed in the correspondence.
