Caleb Yirenkyi, Antoine Semenyo Earn CAF Awards 2026 Nominations

Ghana’s presence at the CAF Awards 2026 has received a major boost following the nomination of Black Stars midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi and forward Antoine Semenyo in two prestigious categories.

Yirenkyi has been shortlisted for the Young Player of the Year (Men) award in recognition of his outstanding performances and rapid rise in African football over the past year.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo has secured a nomination for the coveted Player of the Year (Men) award after an impressive season for both club and country.

The nominations underline the impact Ghanaian players continue to make on the continental stage and come on the back of Ghana’s own nomination for National Team of the Year (Men) at the CAF Awards 2026.

Yirenkyi’s nomination highlights his emergence as one of Africa’s brightest young talents, while Semenyo’s inclusion among the continent’s elite players reflects his consistent performances and growing influence in the Black Stars setup.

The CAF Awards celebrate excellence in African football, honouring outstanding achievements by players, coaches, clubs and national teams across the continent.

Ghanaian football fans will be hoping both players can convert their nominations into awards when the winners are announced at the CAF Awards ceremony later this year.
