CID Boss Engages Schools Over Student Violence Incident

 The Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, has met with the management of Swedru School of Business and Obrachire Senior High Technical School following the recent violent incident involving students from both institutions.

The meeting was convened in response to public concern after the assault, which has attracted widespread attention. COP Donkor emphasized the need for calm and cooperation as police work to address the matter comprehensively.

During the engagement, management of Swedru School of Business was directed to produce the students involved within 24 hours to assist with investigations. COP Donkor stressed that compliance with the directive would ensure a swift and thorough handling of the case.

She underscored the seriousness of the violence and its potential consequences for the students involved, noting that investigations have formally commenced to establish the full circumstances and identify all persons connected to the incident. She also confirmed that the victim is currently responding to treatment.

COP Donkor reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to accountability, law and order, and the promotion of safety within educational institutions.

The incident has sparked renewed debate about discipline and student safety in schools, with calls for stronger measures to prevent violence and protect learners.
