The Christian Council of Ghana has paid a courtesy call on the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), lauding the institution’s initiatives to promote transparency, responsible gold trading, and environmental sustainability.
Leading the delegation, Dr. Joyce Laco Steiner, Director of Programmes and Advocacy, described Ghana’s mineral wealth as a divine endowment that must be managed with integrity and accountability for the benefit of present and future generations.
Welcoming the Council, GoldBod Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, Esq., outlined the Board’s mandate under Act 1140 and its contributions to foreign exchange generation and macroeconomic stability. He highlighted ongoing initiatives in local gold refining, jewellery production, the establishment of an international‑standard fire assay laboratory, land reclamation, and the rehabilitation of water systems affected by mining.
The engagement reaffirmed a shared commitment between the Christian Council and GoldBod to responsible resource management and sustainable national development.
