Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, joined personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service at the Fire Academy Training School in Accra to commemorate this year’s International Firefighters’ Day.
The solemn occasion provided an opportunity to honour the memory of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Hon. Debrah paid tribute to their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, noting that their legacy remains etched in Ghana’s national consciousness.
The event also celebrated outstanding officers whose gallantry, professionalism, and dedication continue to exemplify the highest standards of public service. Awards were presented to recognize their contributions to safeguarding communities across the country.
Speaking on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Chief of Staff expressed profound gratitude to firefighters nationwide, assuring them that their bravery and service are deeply appreciated. He emphasized the importance of continued support and investment in the Fire Service to enable officers to carry out their duties effectively.
Hon. Debrah concluded by urging Ghanaians to remember the fallen heroes whose sacrifices inspire future generations, while reaffirming government’s commitment to strengthening the Fire Service as a cornerstone of national safety and resilience.
