BNI Arrests Four PDS Affiliates Over ECG Funds Probe

The Bureau of National Intelligence (BNI) has arrested four individuals linked to Power Distribution Services (PDS) as part of ongoing investigations into the transfer of large sums of money believed to belong to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

The suspects, named as Philip Ayensu, Viraj Phat, Sophia Korkor, and Justice Menka-Premoh, were picked up last week. According to a Facebook post by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the quartet was taken into custody to assist with inquiries into the suspected diversion of funds.

The BNI has since granted them bail pending further investigations. Authorities have not disclosed the exact amounts involved but emphasized that the probe forms part of efforts to safeguard public resources and ensure accountability in the energy sector.

The arrests come amid heightened scrutiny of PDS’s operations and financial dealings, with the case expected to draw significant public interest as investigations unfold.
