Veteran Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz is set to sign a new two‑year contract with Ghana, extending his stay beyond the expiration of his current deal on July 31, 2026.
The agreement will see Queiroz continue as head coach of the Black Stars through to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which has been identified as a key target for the national team.
Queiroz, who guided Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is expected to build on the team’s progress by strengthening squad depth and competitiveness ahead of continental duties. His extension reflects the Ghana Football Association’s confidence in his experience and leadership to deliver results on Africa’s biggest stage.
The renewal also signals continuity in Ghana’s technical direction, with emphasis on long‑term planning and stability as the Black Stars prepare for upcoming qualifiers and regional tournaments.
