Bank of Ghana Leadership Calls on New Chief Justice

The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Johnson Asiama, together with the First Deputy Governor, Dr. Zakari Mumuni, and senior members of the Bank’s leadership, on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie.

The visit was to formally congratulate Justice Baffoe-Bonnie on his appointment and to reaffirm the Bank’s commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration with the judiciary.

During the meeting, discussions centered on shared priorities and opportunities to deepen cooperation between the financial sector and the judicial system. Both sides emphasized the importance of closer engagement to ensure that the rule of law and sound financial governance continue to reinforce each other in advancing national development.

Dr. Asiama noted that the Bank of Ghana values its partnership with the judiciary, particularly in areas where legal and financial frameworks intersect. He expressed confidence that under Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s leadership, collaboration between the two institutions would be further enhanced.

Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, for his part, welcomed the delegation and underscored the judiciary’s readiness to work hand in hand with the Bank of Ghana to safeguard the integrity of the financial system.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to explore new avenues of cooperation, highlighting the role of both institutions in promoting stability, transparency, and public trust.
