The Bank of Ghana has taken a major step in strengthening its cybersecurity framework with the commissioning of a new Security Operations Centre (SOC) at Bank Square on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

The facility, inaugurated by Chief of Staff Hon. Julius Debrah alongside Governor Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama and First Deputy Governor Dr. Zakari Mumuni, will serve as a centralized hub for monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats in real time.

Officials described the SOC as a cornerstone of the Bank’s evolving security architecture, designed to reinforce resilience against increasingly sophisticated cyber risks. The initiative complements the Bank’s broader commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s financial ecosystem in an era of rapid digital transformation.

“This milestone reflects our determination to protect the integrity of Ghana’s financial system while embracing innovation,” Governor Asiama said.
The commissioning follows the recent relaunch of the Bank’s Cyber and Information Security Directive, underscoring a renewed focus on ensuring that technological progress is matched by robust safeguards.
