Asutifi North MP Denies Leading Mob Attack on NAIMOS Officers in Ahafo Region

Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, has denied claims that he led a mob to attack officers of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) in the Ahafo Region.

Speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem, Dr. Addo said, “It is not true. I have not led any mob action to attack NAIMOS. The taskforce is doing a great job, so why would I even think of mobilizing people to attack them? Even as an MP, that makes no sense.”

He clarified that the incident occurred in Asutifi South, not his constituency, explaining that he only went to the scene to assess the situation after being informed about the chaos.

“On the weekend, there are always activities around, and I was on my way to a funeral. I took a different route and saw and heard the commotion. I immediately called the MP for Asutifi South, Collins Dauda, to inform him,” he said.

Mr. Addo continued, “He told me to go and check what was happening since I was closer to the area.
