Speaking on Baina tv morning show Tsarin Safiya ,the Greater Accra Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Alhaji Ismaila Horoya cautioned the Lands Commission to conduct checks before giving permit for lands.
This comes after last night’s rains caused floods in several parts of the country. He also advised the general public to desist or at least try to control the rate at which they dump rubbish in gutters. He further called for collective efforts to reduce the problem of perennial floods when the rainy season approaches.
He also underscored the need for government to prioritise recycling.
While acknowledging, Zoomlion’s efforts in that area, he called for another recycling company to support and make sure Ghana takes recycling seriously to reduce flooding.
The Immediate Past Greater Accra Regional Nasara Coordinator, Alhaji Aminu Abu attributed the occurrence of perennial floods to our negative attitude, adding that it is inappropriate because the effects become dire and affect others.
