The Al-Wa’ayul Islamie Centre of Madina West, as part of its efforts, to bridge the gap in its funding for socio-economic development is set to launch a shortcode.
The shortcode, *790*40#,will serve as an easily accessible conduit for interested persons to register and make monthly donations pledge of GH¢10 or more on all mobile networks.
The shortcode will help raise funds for the Ummah Waqf Fund to generate income in order to provide social services for the people.
The shortcode is automated to deduct members’ donations from their mobile money wallet on a recurring basis.
The Fund will also provide micro-credit support to Muslim-owned business and market women.
The Ummah Waqf Fund, managed by Al-Wa’ayul Islamie Centre, was set up in November 2019 to help mobilise funds for socio-economic development such as social amenities, care for the aged, and vocational training.
All these, the Fund seeks to achieve, to alleviate poverty among the Ummah.
The launch event, scheduled Friday, 12 March 2022, will be graced by the Chief Imam of Madina West, Sheikh Salman Mohammed Alhassan, and the MP for Madina constituency, Hon Francis Xavier Sosu, among many other notable personalities.
The launch will be climaxed with a sensitisation walk.
