The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye, has confirmed that he has been invited to appear before the party’s National Disciplinary Committee.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Mr. Abronye disclosed that the invitation was extended by the General Secretary of the party, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Kodua.
According to him, the summons is in connection with allegations he has made against Assin Central MP, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, which he insists have the potential to undermine the cohesion and integrity of the party.
Mr. Abronye, who signed the statement in his capacity as Regional Chairman, said he was ready to appear before the Committee to substantiate his claims.
“I am prepared to face the Committee and provide evidence to back the statements I have made,” he noted.
He further proposed that the sittings of the Committee be conducted openly and broadcast live, arguing that such transparency would allow party members and the general public to fairly assess the conduct of Hon. Agyapong and the proceedings of the Committee.
The press release, issued under the party’s slogan “Development in Freedom”, stressed that the matter was of great concern to the grassroots of the NPP, and that openness in handling it would strengthen internal democracy.
The development has generated keen interest among party faithful, as it comes at a time when the NPP is working to consolidate unity ahead of the 2026 general elections.
