The Ghana Police Service has arrested three additional suspects in connection with the brazen daylight robbery of a gold jewellery shop in Adabraka, bringing the total number of arrests to seven.

The suspects — Fatao Mohammed, alias Motorway; Nashiru Abubakar, alias Soldier; and Sadick Abubakar Sakara, alias 50 Cent — were apprehended on January 19, 2026. Police sources describe them as the ringleaders of the robbery syndicate that executed the high-profile heist.

The robbery, which occurred on November 2, 2024, saw armed men storm the Adabraka shop and make away with gold jewellery and cash amounting to GH₵7.5 million. The incident sparked public outrage and prompted a nationwide manhunt.

In a statement issued by the Public Affairs Directorate of the Police Headquarters, Deputy Superintendent of Police Richmond Mensah reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to ensuring justice is served. “Investigations into the Adabraka Gold Jewellery Shop robbery are ongoing, and we remain resolute in bringing all involved to face the full rigours of the law,” the statement read.

The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the case, which has gripped the capital and raised concerns over armed criminal activity in commercial districts.

Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies as investigations progress.
