Black Starlets Exit WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship After Semi-Final Defeat

Ghana’s campaign at the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship came to an end after the Black Starlets suffered a defeat to Côte d’Ivoire in the semi-finals.

The Ghanaian side faced an uphill task after being reduced to 10 men in the 18th minute following the dismissal of Daniel Owusu.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the Black Starlets displayed determination and resilience, holding their own against the Ivorians and battling until the final whistle.

The defeat brings Ghana’s impressive run in the tournament to a close after the team advanced from the group stage with strong performances that raised hopes of a place in the final.

Although eliminated, the Black Starlets earned plaudits for their fighting spirit and commitment, particularly in the semi-final where they competed for much of the game with a man down.

The team’s exit marks the end of its quest for the WAFU Zone B U-17 title, while Côte d’Ivoire progresses to the championship final.
