President Mahama to Address FT Africa Summit in London

President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in London, United Kingdom, where he is expected to address the Financial Times (FT) Africa Summit 2026 as part of efforts to promote Africa’s economic transformation and investment prospects.

President Mahama, who chairs the Presidential Council of the Accra Reset initiative, is scheduled to share insights on the opportunities and challenges shaping Africa’s economic future, drawing on Ghana’s recent economic reforms and recovery efforts.

The FT Africa Summit brings together heads of state, business executives, investors and leading financial institutions for discussions on strategies to accelerate inclusive economic growth and mobilise investment in an evolving global economic environment.

The two-day forum is expected to focus on key issues affecting the continent’s development, including investment, trade, infrastructure, industrialisation and economic resilience.

Following his engagements in the United Kingdom, President Mahama will travel to Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, to lead the 12th Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa.

As Chairperson of the Tana Forum, he is expected to formally present the State of Security in Africa Report on October 24, 2026, as part of deliberations on peace, security and governance challenges confronting the continent.

The forum is regarded as one of Africa’s leading platforms for dialogue on security issues and brings together policymakers, academics, diplomats and security experts to discuss solutions to emerging threats and conflicts across the continent.

President Mahama’s participation in both events is expected to reinforce Ghana’s role in shaping discussions on Africa’s economic development and security architecture at the continental and global levels.
