Mahama Reaffirms Commitment to Private Investment During Visit to Bright International Industrial Zone

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for private sector investment and industrial growth, describing industrialisation as a key pillar of Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.

The President made the remarks during a working visit to the Bright International Industrial Zone, where he underscored the critical role of private investment in driving job creation, innovation and sustainable economic growth.

President Mahama cited Ghana’s record of attracting US$2.62 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in 2025 as evidence of renewed investor confidence in the country’s economy. He said the achievement reflects growing trust in Ghana’s economic direction and policy environment.

According to the President, the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the investment climate are yielding positive results and positioning the country as an attractive destination for both local and international investors.

He expressed optimism that the implementation of the New Economy Policy would further enhance Ghana’s competitiveness, stimulate industrial expansion and unlock new opportunities across key sectors of the economy.

President Mahama noted that the policy seeks to support value addition, strengthen manufacturing capacity and promote export-led growth while creating sustainable employment opportunities, particularly for the youth.

The visit to the Bright International Industrial Zone forms part of the government’s broader strategy to engage industry players and monitor investments aimed at boosting production and industrial output.

Stakeholders at the industrial zone welcomed government’s commitment to supporting businesses and maintaining a stable policy environment to encourage long-term investment.

The President reiterated that sustained collaboration between government and the private sector remains essential to achieving Ghana’s industrialisation goals and building a resilient economy capable of delivering prosperity for citizens.

The Bright International Industrial Zone is expected to contribute significantly to Ghana’s manufacturing sector and support efforts to expand exports, attract investment and accelerate economic growth.
