The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed its members to halt all activities that suggest parliamentary ambitions ahead of the official nomination period.
In a statement signed by General Secretary Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) cautioned that meetings, engagements, tours, donations, or public appearances perceived as promoting parliamentary candidacy are disruptive to party unity and cohesion. It warned that members who disregard the directive will face disciplinary action and sanctions under the NDC constitution and regulations.
The release instructed regional, constituency, branch, and other party officers to ensure strict compliance and report breaches. It reaffirmed the party’s commitment to a transparent and credible process for selecting parliamentary candidates, stressing that the official opening of nominations will be announced at the appropriate time.
The statement concluded by urging members to respect established processes and maintain discipline, noting that unity remains essential as the party prepares for upcoming parliamentary primaries.
