The Ministry of the Interior has declared Monday, September 21, 2026 a statutory public holiday in observance of Founder’s Day.
In a statement signed by Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed–Mubarak (MP), the public was informed that the day “marks Founder’s Day, which is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.”
Founder’s Day commemorates the legacy of Ghana’s independence leaders and is observed annually to honor their contributions to nation‑building.
The Ministry urged citizens to mark the day nationwide in accordance with the Public Holidays Act.
