The latest Global InfoAnalytics survey on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairmanship race shows Nii Lantey Vanderpuye slipping in support, while Samuel Ofosu‑Ampofo has failed to convert the decline into gains.
According to the poll, Vanderpuye’s backing fell from 27 percent in July to 17 percent in September, a sharp ten‑point drop. Ofosu‑Ampofo, meanwhile, edged down slightly from 19 percent to 17 percent, leaving the contest without a clear frontrunner.
Other contenders remain on the margins. Sofo Azorka dropped to 5 percent, Alhaji Sinare fell to 3 percent, while Goosie Tanoh entered the race with 2 percent but has yet to make a significant impact. Armah Ashitey and Opong‑Fosu each polled 1 percent.
The most striking figure is the level of indecision: 53 percent of delegates expressed no opinion on who should lead the party, up from 35 percent in July. Analysts say this underscores uncertainty within the NDC grassroots and suggests the race remains wide open.
Global InfoAnalytics noted that the shifts highlight both volatility in delegate preferences and the challenge facing aspirants in consolidating support ahead of the party’s internal elections.
