The Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has pledged his full support for the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF), describing it as a critical national intervention capable of transforming access to specialised healthcare and restoring hope to thousands of Ghanaians battling chronic and life‑threatening diseases.
The assurance came when GMTF Administrator Adjoa Obuobia Darko‑Opoku led a high‑powered delegation, including Board Member Dr. Adu Agyei Gyamfi and members of the Fund’s management team, on a courtesy call to the Ga Mantse Palace ahead of this year’s Homowo Festival.
The delegation briefed the Ga Mantse on the Fund’s progress since its establishment, highlighting its growing impact on patients nationwide and its long‑term vision of expanding access to specialised treatment through investment in equipment, infrastructure, specialist training, and research.
Welcoming the team, His Royal Majesty praised the Fund’s vision, describing it as one of the most important healthcare interventions in recent years. He stressed that “the health of a nation remains its greatest asset” and pledged to use the influence of the Ga State to champion the Fund’s mission. He urged citizens, corporate institutions, and development partners to rally behind the initiative so that more lives can be saved.
As part of the visit, and in solidarity with the upcoming Homowo Festival, the GMTF presented 100 boxes of bottled water and 100 boxes of assorted soft drinks to support the traditional celebrations. The Ga Mantse expressed appreciation for the gesture, commending the Fund not only for its commitment to improving healthcare but also for recognising and supporting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.
The GMTF emphasised that partnerships with traditional leaders remain essential to bringing specialised healthcare closer to communities, increasing public awareness of its interventions, and ensuring that hope reaches every Ghanaian in need.
