The Ministry of Health has directed the immediate temporary closure of the Nursing Training College at Techiman Krobo following days of disturbances and a breakdown of rules and regulations on campus.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, the Ministry explained that despite several meetings, counselling sessions, and appeals by stakeholders—including the Regional Security Council—some students continued to engage in disruptive conduct that threatened academic activities and endangered peace and safety at the institution.
“The temporary closure is intended to restore calm, protect lives and property, and allow appropriate authorities to assess the situation and determine the necessary steps toward reopening the College under conducive conditions,” the release signed by Tony Goodman, Head of Health Training Institutions, stated.
Students have been instructed to vacate the campus by 5:00 p.m. today, while parents and guardians are urged to make immediate arrangements for their wards. The Ministry assured stakeholders that efforts are underway to resolve the situation promptly, with information on reopening to be communicated through official channels in due course.
The Ministry expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support of all parties as it works to restore a safe and disciplined learning environment.
