The Ghana Police Service has intercepted 1,054 vehicles in the Greater Accra Region as part of a nationwide road traffic enforcement exercise targeting the unauthorized use of horns, sirens, strobe lights, beacon lights, and improvised vehicle modifications.
According to the Service, drivers found in violation were educated on the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulations, 2012 (L.I. 2180). Unauthorised devices and modifications were removed and seized for further action.
The ongoing exercise, which commenced on June 15, 2026, has so far led to the interception of 4,627 vehicles nationwide. Police authorities emphasized that the operation forms part of efforts to promote discipline, safety, and strict compliance with traffic laws.
The Ghana Police Service assured the public that similar enforcement activities will continue across the country to improve road safety and ensure adherence to regulations.
