The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has announced an adjustment to the timing of its daily local gold price announcements for all licensed gold buyers, effective from October 26, 2026, to March 27, 2027.
In a compliance notice issued by its Compliance Directorate, GoldBod said the change has become necessary following the end of British Summer Time in the United Kingdom and the resulting alignment of London time with Ghana’s Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
The Board explained that the adjustment affects the timing of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) Gold Price benchmarks, which will occur one hour later in Ghana during the period under review.
According to the revised schedule, the LBMA Gold AM pricing window, which is currently announced at 9:30 a.m., will now be announced at 10:30 a.m.
Similarly, the LBMA Gold PM pricing window will move from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
GoldBod directed all licensed gold buyers to take note of the revised times and ensure full compliance when undertaking gold purchase transactions from October 26, 2026.
The Board stressed that apart from the changes in announcement times, all existing rules, procedures and requirements governing local gold price determination and trading remain unchanged.
It noted that the adjustment relates solely to the timing of the applicable LBMA pricing benchmarks and the corresponding publication of GoldBod’s local gold prices.
GoldBod further advised licensed gold buyers to make the necessary operational adjustments to facilitate the smooth implementation of the revised schedule.
The Board expressed confidence in the cooperation of stakeholders and stated that the previous pricing timetable would resume when the United Kingdom returns to British Summer Time on March 28, 2027.
The notice was issued by the Compliance Directorate of GoldBod and forms part of the Board’s efforts to ensure orderly and efficient gold trading operations in the country.
