Iran Strikes U.S. Bases After Bombing of Cities

Iran announced that it had carried out attacks on “US bases and strategic centres” in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar following two consecutive nights of American airstrikes on Iranian cities.

According to Iranian officials, the U.S. raids killed 14 people and wounded 78, with explosions reported in several cities along the Strait of Hormuz, including Bushehr, Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, and Sirik.

U.S. President Donald Trump described the strikes as “retribution” for alleged Iranian attacks on ships transiting the Hormuz waterway.

Meanwhile, Iran’s slain Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, is set to be buried today in his hometown of Mashhad. Millions of mourners joined funeral processions earlier this week in the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala.
