Ministry of Defence Holds Orientation for New Civil Servants

The Ministry of Defence has organized an orientation programme for newly posted civil servants, aimed at equipping them with a clear understanding of the Ministry’s mandate, structures, and professional standards.

Welcoming the personnel, the Human Resource Director, Madam Comfort Kyereme, urged them to uphold discipline, integrity, and dedication in the discharge of their duties. She emphasized the vital role of human resources in achieving the Ministry’s objectives, noting that professionalism and commitment remain central to effective public service delivery.

The orientation featured detailed presentations from representatives of various departments and units, designed to prepare the new staff for their assignments. The sessions covered key aspects of the Ministry’s operations, workplace ethics, and expectations for civil service conduct.

The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session led by the Chief Director, Mr Emmanuel Kartey, who addressed questions on civil service procedures, career progression, and workplace expectations. He encouraged the new staff to embrace continuous learning and collaboration as they contribute to the Ministry’s mission of safeguarding national security.

This initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to nurturing a disciplined and well-informed workforce capable of supporting Ghana’s defence sector.
