Police Arrest Two Suspected Robbers, Recover Stolen Motorbike in Tumu

 The Upper West Regional Police Command has arrested two suspected robbers in connection with a violent attack along the Tumu-Kowie road in the Sissala East District.

The suspects, identified as Seidu Muizu (20) and Salifu Mutada (22), allegedly robbed three individuals at gunpoint on May 30, 2026, and made away with an unregistered Apsonic motorbike. Swift police action led to their arrest and the recovery of the stolen bike.

Further investigations uncovered another unregistered Loujia motorbike believed to have been used in the crime. Police say the suspects may be linked to other robbery incidents in the Tumu area. Efforts are underway to retrieve the firearm used in the attack.

The suspects are currently in police custody as investigations continue. The Upper West Regional Police Command commended the public for its cooperation and urged residents to continue providing timely information to support crime prevention.

The statement was signed by ACP Peter Kamasa, Deputy Regional Police Commander, who reaffirmed the service’s commitment to ensuring safety and security across the region.
