In a remarkable act of compassion during the Easter season, the Minister for Foreign Affairs has settled the full medical bills of 85 constituents from North Tongu who were on admission across several health facilities.
The beneficiaries are patients receiving care at Battor Catholic Hospital, St. Anne’s Polyclinic in Tagadzi, Juapong Health Centre, VRA Hospital in Akosombo, Fodzoku Health Centre, Mafi Dedukope Health Centre, Mafi Adidome Health Centre, and Podoe Health Centre.
Announcing the gesture in a Facebook post, the minister wrote: “In the spirit of Easter, I have paid the full medical bills of all 85 beloved North Tongu constituents on admission… I wish you all a speedy recovery. May the teachings of Christ on compassion and being our neighbour’s keeper continue to undergird our leadership philosophy.”
The intervention comes at a time when many families are grappling with the financial burden of healthcare. Constituents have lauded the initiative, describing it as a timely relief and a demonstration of leadership rooted in empathy.
Observers note that the minister’s action reflects the broader message of Easter — compassion, sacrifice, and care for one’s neighbour — values he emphasized in his post.
