The Parliamentary Open Government Partnership (OGP) Caucus has paid a working visit to the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) as part of its ongoing engagements with implementing agencies under the national OGP initiative.

The visit was aimed at gathering insights on progress made, challenges encountered, and exploring collaborative strategies to ensure the successful implementation of Ghana’s OGP commitments outlined in the National Action Plan.

The Acting Director-General of the IAA, Mr. Thomas Thompson-Aryee, highlighted the Agency’s efforts to promote transparency and accountability. He cited initiatives such as digitisation of submissions, sensitisation of internal auditors, and measures to strengthen internal audit practices as key steps toward achieving the OGP goals.

Chairman of the Parliamentary OGP Caucus and Member of Parliament for Ho West, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, commended the Agency’s management for its commitment to openness and transparency. He assured the IAA of the Caucus’s full support, pledging collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including the Ministry of Finance, to address funding gaps that hinder the Agency’s ability to fully implement its commitments under the OGP initiative.
The engagement underscores Parliament’s determination to strengthen accountability mechanisms and foster public trust through the Open Government Partnership framework.
