President Mahama Honoured as Grand Patron of WACS

 President John Dramani Mahama has been decorated as the Grand Patron of the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) during the College’s 66th Annual Conference, in recognition of his distinguished support for healthcare delivery and surgical advancement across the region.

In his acceptance address, President Mahama underscored the transformative role of technology in strengthening medical education, improving clinical decision-making, supporting mentorship, and enhancing quality assurance — all to the ultimate benefit of patients across West Africa.

He further highlighted the importance of the annual conference as a vital platform for professional networking and international collaboration, noting that it helps to strengthen research capacity, mobilise resources, and accelerate the translation of evidence into improved clinical outcomes.
