Minister for Gender Honoured at Impactful Women Awards

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has been named the 2025 Outstanding Woman of Honour at the 8th Edition of the Impactful Women Awards.

Dr. Lartey received the prestigious recognition for her inspiring leadership, passion for women’s empowerment, and unwavering commitment to societal development and her constituency.

The award was formally presented during a courtesy call by a delegation from the Impactful Women Awards Initiative, led by its convener, Mr. Barry Joseph. He explained that the Initiative, which has been running for eight years across Ghana and other African countries, celebrates women who have consistently made remarkable contributions in politics, leadership, education, health, and community development.

Mr. Joseph noted that the Minister’s nomination followed a rigorous background assessment of her public service record, grassroots initiatives, and direct engagement with constituents. He described Dr. Lartey as “one of the most visible and accessible women leaders in governance.”

He further highlighted the Initiative’s annual Breast Cancer Wellness Programme, which creates awareness and supports women affected by breast cancer.

In addition to the award, Dr. Lartey was presented with a Certificate of Induction, officially recognizing her entry into the Impactful Women Award Hall of Fame.

Responding to the honour, the Minister expressed gratitude to the Initiative, describing the recognition as “a motivation to do more.” She reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the welfare of women, children, and vulnerable persons through responsive policies and practical interventions.

Dr. Lartey also commended the Initiative for amplifying the voices and efforts of women, particularly in the areas of empowerment and breast cancer awareness.
