Mahama Ayariga, the newly appointed Majority Leader, has pledged to ensure the responsible and inclusive use of the ruling party’s significant parliamentary majority in the 9th Parliament.
As the newly appointed Majority Leader, Hon. Mahama Ayariga emphasized on consensus-building, unity, and probity in ensuring the country’s legislative agenda is pursued without marginalizing opposing voices.
Mahama Ayariga, in his acceptance speech on Thursday, January 23, 2025, stressed the importance of building consensus and fostering unity within Parliament.
“As President John Dramani Mahama has said, these overwhelming numbers will not be abused,” Mr Ayariga declared.
“Even though we are an overwhelming majority, we will strive for inclusivity, consensus-building and deeply uphold the principles of probity and accountability in the fulfilment of the dreams of our founding fathers.”
In his address, Mr Ayariga emphasised the importance of constructive dialogue and mutual respect in overcoming challenges.
“The road ahead will not be without challenges, but I am confident that together, through constructive dialogue and mutual respect, we can overcome any obstacles and deliver on our collective vision,” he concluded.
Mahama Ayariga’s appointment as Majority Leader marks a significant milestone in his political career, which has seen him serve in various capacities, including Minister of Information and Media Relations, and Minister of Youth and Sports.
