Mallam Fatullahi Issahaq Fafana has called on the youth and Tariqatul Tijaniya faithfuls to live up to the principles of the faith and stay away from the excesses.
The call was made at the 34th annual Maulid celebration to mark the birth of Sheikh Ahmed Tijani, which taken place at the forecourt of the residence of the late Sheikh Issahaq Fafana at Koforidua Zongo Laaka.
The Maulid celebration was graced by hundreds of Tariqatul Tijaniya faithfuls including Chiefs, Sheihks and many other Islamic scholars who trooped from all walks of life.
In his delivery of the popular ‘Iyihuwa’ sermon, Mallam Fathulahi Issahaq Fafana admonished the youth to guard against excesses and stick to the values of the Tariqa faith as are contained in the teachings of Sheihk Ahmed Tijani.
He said most youth are only claiming to be practicing Tariqa but are rather doing the opposite making them lose focus and eventually leading them astray.
He then advised the followers of Tariqa to try as much as they can to seek knowledge in other to have a better understand of the faith.
“ Tariqa Tijaniya is not only about singing Zikir and hailing Sheikhs which is mostly seen among the youth today but also acquiring knowledge about the Deen and the sunnah of the Holy Prophet as propagated by our Sheihks” Mallam Fatahu Said.
“Tariqa Tijaniya is more about knowing Allah and His messenger, having a good relationship with fellow humans and also seeking forgiveness and nearness to Allah. However, what the youth do today is quite the opposite and its very worrying” he added.
Mallam Fathulahi also cautioned the youth against the use of abusive words on Sheikhs they Sheikhs who have different ideologies but rather should respect all Islamic leaders irrespective of their ideologies.
Adding that to succeed in life, the youth must show respect to Sheikh and elders in the communities.
Key among dignitaries who graced the occasion which climax on Saturday Night included the member of parliament for the area Hon. Okyere Baafi and MP for Ayawaso North, Hon. Yusif Jaja.
