Two Arrested in Oti Region for Possession of Firearms and Ammunition

 The Nkwanta Municipal Police Command has arrested two individuals for unlawful possession of firearms and large quantities of ammunition following an intelligence-led operation.

According to the Ghana Police Service, officers intercepted a Kia Rhino truck with registration number GW 9927-13 at the Brewaniase Police barrier. The vehicle was driven by 27-year-old Richard Kpimbi, with 20-year-old Latif Adam as his mate.

A thorough search of the truck uncovered one Adler pump-action gun, 7,000 AAA cartridges, 3,000 BB cartridges, and 1,124 live rounds of AK-47 ammunition concealed in plastic sacks and boxes under tarpaulins.

The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, while the retrieved exhibits have been retained for further action.
