The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has directed the Business Committee to schedule two major bills for consideration by the House.
The bills are the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill and the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana (Amendment) Bill – Dual Citizenship.
The directive highlights the Speaker’s determination to ensure that Parliament addresses pressing national issues. The Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill has attracted significant public debate, while the proposed constitutional amendment on dual citizenship is expected to have far-reaching implications for Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
By instructing the Business Committee to prioritize these bills, the Speaker has set the stage for robust parliamentary deliberations that could shape Ghana’s legal and social landscape.
