President Mahama Donates Vehicle to Islamic Education Unit

Former President John Mahama has generously donated a vehicle to the Islamic Education Unit in Tamale, fulfilling a promise made in his 2024 manifesto.

Mr. Abdul Karim Bapuni, General Manager of the Islamic Education Unit, gratefully received the keys to the vehicle.

On Sunday, John Mahama announced that he had procured a vehicle based on the request of Alhaji Baba Adam, the Chief Executive Officer of the Zakat and Sadaqa Trust Fund.

The Islamic Education Unit, established by the PNDC/NDC, plays a vital role in providing Arabic teachers to basic and senior high schools.

This donation underscores President Mahama’s commitment to supporting education and community development.

The vehicle is meant to aid the operations of zakat collection and revenue mobilisation for the development of the Muslim community in Ghana

John Mahama also procured five motorbikes for distribution to some Muslim media organisations.

He, among others, made commitments towards the establishment of a permanent hajj transit camp in Accra and Tamale and support the active inclusion of Imams and Chiefs on boards of corporations and on district assemblies.
