President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in the Republic of Korea for a series of high-level engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Ghana and South Korea.
During his visit, President Mahama is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Lee Jae Myung and meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Woo Won-shik. The discussions are expected to focus on deepening cooperation in trade, investment, and parliamentary relations.
The President will also participate in a ship-naming ceremony at the Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard in Ulsan, underscoring Ghana’s interest in maritime and industrial collaboration. In addition, he will deliver remarks at a conferment ceremony at Yonsei University, highlighting Ghana’s commitment to educational and cultural exchange.
Further engagements will include interactions with Ghanaians living, studying, and working in South Korea, as well as a dinner meeting with business leaders and chief executives. The dinner is expected to promote investment opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
President Mahama’s visit marks a significant step in Ghana’s efforts to expand its international partnerships, with South Korea emerging as a key ally in trade, education, and industrial development.
