Police Reinforce Security in Nkwanta After Deadly Attacks

The Ghana Police Service has deployed reinforcements to Nkwanta following renewed violent attacks that left five people dead.

In a statement issued by the Regional Headquarters in Dambai on March 26, the Inspector-General of Police confirmed that two armored vehicles and personnel from the National Police Operations were dispatched to the area to restore calm.

A joint security team comprising the Police, Military, Bureau of National Investigations, Defence Intelligence, and Ghana National Fire Service recovered the bodies of three men and two women from two separate locations in the Nkwanta South Municipality.

Investigations have begun to establish the circumstances surrounding the attacks and to identify those responsible. Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing information that could assist in the probe.

The Police further cautioned the public against spreading misinformation or engaging in actions that could inflame tensions.
