The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that adequate security measures have been rolled out nationwide to safeguard lives and property during activities marking the transition into the New Year.
In a statement, the Service said personnel have been deployed across communities, major towns, entertainment centres, and key highways, with intensified patrols to maintain public order and ensure safety.
Traffic officers have also been positioned at major intersections to facilitate smooth vehicular movement and ease congestion as people travel to various destinations.
Special arrangements have been made at public gathering venues, including churches and event grounds, where large crowds are expected to converge for watch-night services and celebrations.
The Police Service has called on the public to cooperate fully with officers on duty, remain vigilant, and look out for neighbours who may not be at home during the festivities.
Citizens are encouraged to promptly report suspicious activities through the following hotlines: 0302773906, 18555, 191, or 112.
“We wish everyone a safe, peaceful, and happy New Year,” the statement concluded.
