Police and Guinness Ghana Launch Joint Road Safety Campaign

The Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) Headquarters, in collaboration with Guinness Ghana PLC and supported by the Public Affairs Directorate (PAD) of the Ghana Police Service, has embarked on a week-long campaign to promote responsible driving and reduce drink-driving and speed-related incidents during the festive season.

The campaign team visited the Accra–Nsawam–Kumasi Highway (N6) and the Anya–Awoshie Road, where motorists were sensitized on the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and reminded to adhere strictly to stipulated speed limits.

As part of the exercise, drivers who tested negative during breathalyzer checks received branded T-shirts and souvenirs bearing the slogans “Your Eye for Clear” and “Don’t Booze, Just Cruise!”.

Motorists expressed appreciation to the Ghana Police Service and Guinness Ghana PLC for the initiative, which they described as timely and impactful.

Officials noted that the campaign will be extended to other major road corridors, with further updates to be communicated in due course.
