Parliament Resumes: 2nd Session of the 9th Parliament Opens Tuesday

Parliament will reconvene on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to commence the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

The House is expected to sit at 12 noon, continuing legislative business from where it adjourned at the end of the First Session.

The resumption marks a critical moment in Ghana’s parliamentary calendar, as lawmakers return to deliberate on key national issues, scrutinize government policies, and advance bills that were pending before the recess.

Observers anticipate that the Second Session will be characterized by robust debates, oversight responsibilities, and renewed focus on legislation aimed at strengthening governance and improving the lives of citizens.

The Speaker of Parliament is expected to outline the agenda for the session, setting the tone for proceedings in the weeks ahead.
