There will be a temporary road closure of the Obetsebi-Lamptey roundabout from 22 -30th September 2022 from 10pm – 5am for nine days to enable the contractors to launch metallic steel beams on the interchange .
Section of the stretch to be closed is from the Obetsebi -Lamptey roundabout to the Abossey Okai central Mosque to enable the contractors to launch metallic steel beams on the interchange.
According to the residents engineer, ING. Owusu Sekyere Antwi all the sub- structures have been completed and they are currently working on the rumps that the bridge itself will be sitting on.
”Currently we have completed all the sub- structures, when i say sub – structures i mean the columns and pierce and the batement that the bridge itself will be sitting on. All that has been completed. We are currently working on the ramps, that is the filed material that will take you onto the bridge. We are working on that currently”.
ING. Owusu Sekyere Antwi added that, the materials to be used for the bridges have arrived at the tema harbour and will be brought to the site this evening and that is the reason why they asked for the closure of some sections of the road except for the project site from 10pm to 5 am for about nine days.
Adding that these are days that the steal component will be brought from Tema harbour to the site.
He also stated that, sections to be closed will be from Obetsebi- Lamptey roundabout to the old central Mosque will be closed totally to traffic from 10pm – 5am.
In addition, he said vehicles moving from Circle to Korle- bu can not use the route, they will have to use either the first light traffic light or use the beach road.
