The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has paid glowing tribute to the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, describing him as “utterly fearless” and far more than just a political strategist, acknowledging his significant contributions to both the party and the nation.
Delivering the tribute on behalf of the NDC at the interdenominational state funeral on Friday, August 15, General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey praised Dr. Boamah’s dedication and service.
Dr. Boamah was among eight people who lost their lives in the August 6 military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region. Others killed in the crash included Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation; former parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East Samuel Aboagye; NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong; and Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator.
The crew members who perished were Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
