Ministry Commiserates with Victims of Accra New Town Building Collapse

 The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection has expressed deep sorrow following the tragic building collapse that struck Accra New Town on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

In a statement issued on Monday, March 30, the Minister, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, extended heartfelt condolences to families who lost loved ones and conveyed sympathy to those injured or otherwise affected by the disaster.

The Ministry commended the swift response of emergency services and community members who assisted in rescue efforts. It emphasized the importance of adhering to safety standards and building regulations to safeguard lives and prevent similar tragedies.

According to the release, the Ministry’s Social Welfare Department will provide psychosocial support to victims and their families in the coming days. The statement reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to promoting safety and well-being, ensuring that “no one is left behind.”
