Man Arrested in Cape Coast for Alleged Assault

The Central Regional Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Samuel Bills Acquah, for allegedly assaulting a 30-year-old woman in Cape Coast.

According to police, the incident was reported on March 27 at about 9:30 p.m. The suspect is said to have assaulted the woman, with whom he shares a child, at Bakano, a suburb of Cape Coast. Officers proceeded to the scene and took Acquah into custody.

Police say the suspect is currently assisting with investigations and will be arraigned before court on March 30, 2026, to face prosecution.

The arrest follows a viral video that drew public attention to the alleged assault. Authorities have assured the public that the matter is being handled in accordance with the law.

Chief Inspector Isaac Evans Ettie of the Public Affairs Unit, Central Region, signed the statement announcing the arrest.
