President John Dramani Mahama has paid a solemn tribute to Zambia’s founding father, Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda, during a visit to Embassy Park in Lusaka.

The occasion formed part of activities to honour Zambia’s late Heads of State, with special homage to Dr. Kaunda, whose visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to African liberation left an enduring legacy on the continent.

President Mahama described Dr. Kaunda as a towering figure whose dedication to freedom and unity inspired generations across Africa. He noted that Kaunda’s role in championing independence movements and fostering solidarity among African nations continues to resonate in today’s efforts toward integration and development.

The tribute underscored Ghana’s deep respect for Zambia’s history and its leaders, while reinforcing the shared bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
