A student from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), affiliated with Unity Hall (Conti), has been hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times during an altercation at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) “Thank You” tour event.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at the Bantama Pentecost Church in the Ashanti Region. Eyewitnesses reported that the confrontation stemmed from a dispute over money allegedly distributed at the event. Tensions quickly escalated, resulting in violence, leaving the student seriously injured. The victim was rushed to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Security personnel intervened after the attack, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the violence and identify those responsible.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, along with other government officials, has strongly condemned the incident, calling for a thorough investigation to bring perpetrators to justice. Many people, including students from KNUST, have expressed concern over security at political events and urged for better safety measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
