The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey has lamented over the taking over of lands belonging to the Animal Research Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research.
The institute has over the period express worry about the increasing level of encroachments of their lands by the land guard. They have called on the government to intervene because their efforts to eliminate the land guards have proven futile.
Meanwhile, Mr. Quartey has assured them of government efforts to demolish buildings on such lands.
“I have received complaints by some government officials that government lands are being encroached. An example is what we see at CSIR. It is sad that people have the effrontery to take over government property.”
“REGSEC will meet soon and I will take a decision in no time. I will ensure that the situation is dealt with in no time.”
He said this after inspecting the boundaries of the institute.
