High Commission Hosts East Hampshire Councillor

The Ghana High Commission in London on 12th January 2026 welcomed Cllr Adeel Shah, Town and District Councillor in East Hampshire and Cabinet Member at the East Hampshire District Council, at the Chancery.

During the courtesy call, Cllr Shah and H.E. Mrs. Sabah Zita Benson, Ghana’s High Commissioner, discussed opportunities for advancing community development in Ghana through the support of interested charities. The two also explored ways to deepen engagement with the Ghanaian diaspora community in East Hampshire.

High Commissioner Benson highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration with the diaspora, particularly in the areas of culture, trade, and investment, noting that such partnerships are vital for Ghana’s socio-economic growth.

The meeting underscored the High Commission’s commitment to building bridges with local authorities abroad and fostering stronger ties with Ghanaians living in the United Kingdom.
