The deputy Minister for Trades and Industry, Micheal Okyere Baafi has assured the people of Koforidua Zongo, that in no time, contractor will move to site to commence the construction of the Zongo Hospital project.
The Minister who also doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for New Juaben North made the disclosure over the weekend at the 34th Maulaid ceblebration of Sheihk Ahmed Tijani at Zongo Laaka, a suburb of Koforidua.
He said, the government is doing everything possible to help develop Zongo and his office has recently received a letter from the ministry of health indicating the ministry’s readiness to award the contract for the project to start in fulfillment the promise he had made to the people.
“I always try to contribute my best to the development of Zongo. We are still doing all we can. I have just shown Alhaji Fafana the letter from the ministry of health which is an indication that the contract for the Zongo hospital I have promised will soon be awarded for the contractor to move to site. The letter is on phone as I’m speaking now”. Okyere Baafi said.
The MP also disclosed to the people that deliberations are ongoing with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in Ghana as he continues in his search for support for the redevelopment of the central mosque.
“I am still talking to the UAE embassy for support on the development of the central mosque. I am working very hard on it so work will start soon”. He added.
According to him the government is doing all these to accelerate the development of zongo and called on the people to pray for the government.
He also took the opportunity to extend greetings from the President and appeal to the people to continue having patience with the government in these hard times because government is working hard to ensure that the economic conditions of Ghanaians get better.
